Professor Caliendo is a teacher, scholar, and administrator at Utah State University. He currently serves as the Head of the Department of Economics and Finance in the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University, and he previously served as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the Huntsman School.
His scholarly research focuses on topics in Macroeconomics, Public Economics, Household Finance, and Economic Theory. He was named the Eldon J. Gardner Teacher of the Year at Utah State University in 2011, and he received the Young Economists Award of the International Institute of Public Finance in 2008 for research that “stands out for its scientific quality, creativity and relevance” (award shared with co-author Scott Findley).
Professor Caliendo has been a visiting scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia and has presented his research at universities and academic conferences all over the world. Read the Director's welcome message here.
